To edit Geodatasets Editor level access is required for the Exploratory Locations module (see Access Levels).
See here for how to check your current access level. See here for how to apply for a change in access level.
To edit a Geodataset, first navigate to its details page by using one of the search tools.
You can edit the following information by clicking the appropriate button on the command bar.
Edit - Edit the details about the Geodataset stored on GDMS e.g. project, contractor, production date etc. This allows details extracted from the Geodata File to be overwritten or supplemented.
Update Roads - Edit the Roads which the Geodataset and associated Exploratory Locations are nearby to assist with searching.
Link/Unlink Report - Edit the Report which the Geodataset it linked to e.g. a Factual Report.
An entry will be added to the Audit Log to record the changes.
You cannot edit Exploratory Locations directly on the GDMS system.
To make an update you should remove the Geodataset (and thereby the Exploratory Location), edit the Geodata File and then Re-upload.
This ensures that the Exploratory Location details held on GDMS agree exactly with the Geodata File on which it is based.
