To delete GAD objects, Editor level access is required for the GAD module in the relevant Area (see Access Levels). Only Managers can delete attached files.
See here for how to check your current access level. See here for how to apply for a change in access level.
Deleting data is irreversible! Make sure you understand the implications for all associated objects before proceeding.
If you accidentally delete data, contact the System Administrator immediately.
The following GAD objects can be deleted from the system:
Objects which do not have a Status (e.g. NRMR and Attached Files).
Objects which have a preliminary status and have never been approved.
Once an object has been approved, it can only be archived on the basis that fundamental errors should have been identified during the approval process.
Deleting an object means it cannot be accessed by any user, as if it had not been created in the first place.
In many cases, other associated objects are automatically deleted at the same time. Generally these are sub-ordinate objects in the hierarchy of GAD objects, which would be meaningless on their own once the parent object is deleted. See below for details of the associated objects that will also be archived.
To delete an object, first navigate to its details page, then click Delete on the Command Bar.
A list of the associated objects which will also be deleted is displayed (See below).
Check the box to confirm you intend to delete all these objects and then click Delete on the Command Bar.
Assets, Items and Sets should only be deleted from the system if they are completely incorrect, if they should not have been entered onto the system in the first place (e.g. duplicates) or if it would be easier to start from scratch than edit mistakes. If an object is no longer relevant because of significant changes to, or removal of, the actual Asset due to construction works, then the object should be archived. If you are deleting test data, then please note that a training area is available for this purpose.
The table below summarises the associated objects which will also be Deleted at the same time as the selected object.
Object Deleted | Associated Objects Which are Also Deleted |
Geotechnical Asset | Inventory Items. Inventory Sets. Condition Items. Condition Sets. Slope Geometries. Attached Files. |
Inventory Item | Condition Items (which relate to the Inventory Item). NRMR. Attached Files. |

Activity | Not Applicable. Activities cannot be Deleted. |
