A package is the collation of necessary data (GAD data and mapping) required in order to complete a defined activity within TabletGAD (typically an inspection). Only the most recent version of GAD data is downloaded in a package.
To sync data, Editor or Manager level access is required for the GAD module for the specific Area the data is associated to (see Access Levels).
See here for how to check your current access level. See here for how to apply for a change in access level.
In order to create a package, an internet connection on your device is required.
To create a package, press Create Package on the Home screen.
You will then be prompted to enter your GDMS login details in a web browser. Once you have entered your details and pressed login, a pop-up to warn that the site is trying to open TabletGAD, press Open.
You will then be prompted to define an extents. This can be defined using a poly-search, similar to the online system.
There is an extents limit of 300 km^2 when creating packages. If you wish to download an area larger than this, split it into different packages.
Once you have defined the extents, press Next to select assets to be downloaded in the package. Click on assets in the grid to include them or press Select All to include all assets within the extents.
Once you have included all desired assets in the package press Next to name the package. Enter the package title and comments for the package if desired.
Press Save to begin the download process. A pop-up will show the progress of the download.
Closing TabletGAD, sending the device into sleep mode and losing internet connection will result in an incomplete package download. We recommend the tablet is fully charged or plugged into mains power when downloading packages. Increase the sleep timer in device settings to avoid the tablet going into sleep mode.
After downloading a package, you should always check that the package contains everything that you expect (including map layers and GAD data).
