There are two ways to search from the map:
By Geometry - allows you to define an area on the map and search for objects within that.
By Segment - allows you to select an IAM-IS Maintenance Segment on the map and search for objects associated to that segment.
Map Geometry Search allows you to quickly search GDMS for any objects within a specified area. To search for these objects in an area on the map, click Search in the Mapping command bar and then selecting By Geometry .
The following objects can be searched using this method:
Spills
Exploratory Locations
Catchments
Sub-catchments

Any object that falls party or completely within the search area will be returned in the search.
After selecting the area and pressing search in the pop-up, you will be directed to the search results.
Map Search will return only objects listed above. Other information such as WMS layers will not be searched. Objects will be searched even if their map layers are not switched on.
Objects associated to Road Segments can be searched from the map. This can be performed by clicking Search in the Mapping command bar and then selecting By Segment .
The following objects can be searched using this method:
GAD Objects (Geotechnical Assets, items, sets) - any object associated to the Segment.
Reports - any Reports with an extent that intersects the Segment and is linked to the Segment's Road.
After selecting By Segment, a pop up will appear and the IAM-IS Segments will be shown on the map.
