Users with “Edit “ or “Manage” permissions can create a spill within the Area(s) they hold permissions.
The steps are as follows:
To create a spill, go to Main Menu > Spills > Create Spills
You will first be asked to define the location, the date and time of the spill.
A form for entering details about the spill location will appear. Input the OS Easting and Northings for the spill or click on the map to populate. The date and time reported for the spill is mandatory to continue creating the spill.
On the next page, the spill will then need to be assigned to a Sub-catchment. The default is the closest sub-catchment, but this can be overridden by selecting an alternative from the grid.
GDMS then checks for other spills with the same date and sub-catchment. Any matching spills are presented in a summary grid. Press next to locate the spill, or cancel if the spill has previously been logged.
Similarly, to sub-catchment, the spill will then need to be assigned to the road network. The default is the closest road, but this can be overridden by selecting and alternative from the grid. Press finish locating to add details of the spill.
A form for entering details about the spill will appear. All the details should be entered if possible. All mandatory fields need to be populated in order to save and create the spill record.
